Will a file screen look inside a .ZIP file?

From my testing, it does not. I set up a file screen to prevent .TXT files from being copied into a folder. In another folder that was not screened, I created two text files and then sent them to a compressed (.zip) file. I was able to copy the .zip file to the screen folder. To help prevent blocked files from being saved to restricted locations, you may want to consider also blocking .ZIP files.

Beyond the obvious lame-ness that Microsoft doesn't check the compressed file's contents that it natively-understands, do we know of any file monitor software that CAN check the contents of compressed files? That's quite a 90's workaround that many an end user would try.

Doing a quick search, I've found nothing. Well, I did find someone ask Social.Microsoft.com the exact same question. Literally copied this article and posted it as their own. The "expert" sent them to two articles that had nothing to do wit this topic.

This week I instructed my first class using Windows Server 2012 accessed via LogMeIn and discovered a Sticky Key problem every time you press the Shift key. Here is my solution to resolve this.  First off, in the Preferences of LogMeIn for the connection to the Windows Server, click General . Change the Keyboard and mouse priority to Host side user and click Apply at the bottom. On the Windows 2012 server, open the Control Panel – Ease of Access – Change how your keyboard works . How to run GPResult on a remote client with PowerShell

In the past, to run the GPResult command, you would need to either physically visit this client, have the user do it, or use and RDP connection.  In all cases, this will disrupt the user.  First, you need PowerShell remoting enabled on the target machine.  You can do this via Group Policy . Open PowerShell and type this command. Invoke-Command –ScriptBlock {GPResult /r} –ComputerName <ComputerName> Replace <ComputerName> with the name of the target.  Remember, the target needs to be online and accessible to you.
